- Notice of intent to award a sole source contract to GeoNorth, LLC., 1000 O'Malley Ste. 200, Anchorage, AK, 99515. GeoNorth, LLC will update an existing ArcPad 6.0.3 application to ArcPad Version 7.1 and convert ArcView 3.3 Extension to ArcGIS Version 9.3 for use in aerial surveys of brown bears in Southwest Alaska Network Parks. Brown bear location data from previous surveys that will be provided to the Contractor under this contract are considered sensitive information by the Trust Resources Management Agency within the Department of Fish and Game, State of Alaska. The National Park Service has designated the data as sensitive as per U.S. Title 16 (16 U.S.C. 5937). The sole source justification is under authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), the value of the contract is expected to be $30,000. GeoNorth, LLC is a small business under NAICS 541511. The National Park Service (NPS), Alaska Regional Office requires the following tasks:1.Develop a file Geodatabase to be used for bear monitoring transects and aerial observations.2.Convert and update the Survey Transect Generation tools from ArcView script applications (Avenue) to ArcGIS 9.3 (Visual BASIC for applications [VBA]).3.Update ArcPad application for aerial observation survey.4.Demonstrate the new application to Alaska National Park Service personnel. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals or quotations received in response to this notice. This service will be procured under Firm Fixed Price Service in accordance with FAR 12 procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1.
