Description
The Durham Health Services Research and Development (HSR&D) Center of Excellence (CoE) in Primary Care located with in the Durham VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Durham North Carolina intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM), Department of Medicine, Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina. Procurement is for The HSR&D Center of Excellence (CoE) at the Durham, NC VA Medical Center (VAMC) is currently an approved OAA training site eligible to nominate and appoint up four Postdoctoral physician fellowship positions per academic year. OAA provides stipends for post-doctoral fellows who are also supported by supplemental funding from HSR&D for research-related expenses and technical support. The Durham HSR&D CoE would like to use the supplemental fellowship funding received from VA to facilitate training in clinical research through the Clinical Research Training Program (CRTP) at Duke University Medical Center. This proposed procurement is for Clinical Research Training Program curriculum taught as courses within the Duke University Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics. DGIM will serves as the university conduit to charge HSR&D for the expense of the course hours, and then process payments associated with those same hours for each individual fellow to the University Bursar. Supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than Noon, 8/13/08, local time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
