Description
The Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center is seeking potential sources to remove all miscellaneous trash and take to a landfill and remove all recycled waste materials and transport to a recycling facility to be sorted and sold to recycling companies for both the Brecksville and Wade Park facilities. Miscellaneous trash is defined as food and items covered with food, such as cups, plates and wrappers, tape and adhesive labels, specialty papers like photographs, blueprints and foil items, envelopes computer disks, slides and transparencies, combustible and non-combustible materials such as paper wrappings, floor sweepings, grass cuttings, tree trimmings, street sweepings and other like material. Recycled waste is defined as Newspapers, magazines and junk mail, file folders, glass, aluminum cans, metal and steel cans, #1 and #2 plastic bottles and all cardboard. Clear plastic liners will be used to collect recycle materials and they will be shredded and recycled at the recycling facility. Contractor will be required to provide at a minimum 9, 8 yard containers and 4, 6 yard containers and 12, 8 yard recycled containers for recycled waste. Additionally, contractor will be required to provide on call drop-off and pick-up of 2, 40 yard contractor furnished open top containers filled with Municipal Solid Waste and or Special Waste such as construction debris. Contractor will also be required to pick up and dispose of miscellaneous trash in 1 Government owned 40 cubic yard Anchor Pac Container. Pickup of waste containers will be conducted on various days throughout the week depending on location and requirement. Contractor must use an EPA approved landfill and recycling facility for the disposal of all solid waste and recycled materials and submit appropriate certificate validating compliance to this requirement. All recycled waste will be taken to a facility to be sorted and sold to recycling companies. Contractor shall be required to assume full responsibility for compliance with all Federal, State, City and County laws, regulations and rules governing removal and hauling of waste and recycled materials. This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (service disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, hubzone, 8(a), small disadvantage business, small business, or large business) relative to NACIS 562111 (size standard of 11.5M per annum). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses to this notice should include company name, a service capability statement, three customer references to which you have provided similar services to, copies of applicable licensing, product catalog, address, point of contact, and the size of your business pursuant to the following questions: (1) Is your business large or small (2) If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emerging business, or small disadvantaged business? (3) If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and if your firm is certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? (4) Is your firm a certified hubzone firm? (5) Is your firm a woman-owned or operated business? (6) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small or Veteran Owned Small Business? Responses to this notice shall be e-mailed. Responses must be received in writing no later than Tuesday August 12, 2008 at 10a.m. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to any future solicitation announcements. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of future solicitations.
