- The work includes a Base Bid and an Optional Bid Item. The Base Bid consists of the removal of approximately 8,000 cubic yards of shoal material from the Canaveral Harbor Barge Canal to a required depth of 12 feet plus 1 foot allowable overdepth. Dredged material will be placed at the Barge Canal Disposal Area, located approximately 12,000 feet west of the Canaveral Harbor Lock. Work also includes clearing, excavating, modifying outfall pipe, and minor dike repairs at the disposal area. The Optional Bid Item includes replacement of the box weir superstructure. Magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. THIS PROCUREMENT IS A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The solicitation will be issued on or about 28 August 2008 with bids due on or about 30 September 2008. Solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be posted on the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) website at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/. In order to receive notification of any amendments to this solicitation, interested vendors must REGISTER AS AN INTERESTED VENDOR on the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. If you are not registered, the Government is not responsible with providing you with notification of any changes to this solicitation. You must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration in order to be eligible to receive an award from this solicitation. NOTE: To be considered small for purposes of Government procurement, a firm must perform at least 40 percent of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern.
