Description
The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has a requirement for three types of system engineering support at its Tactical Electronic Warfare Division in Washington, D.C. The first type of support required is network engineering support. This task will include support of network infrastructure including maintaining network components with security patches and software upgrades, installing routers, switches, and cables, and maintenance of the domain name server. This task also includes supporting the operation and maintenance of network servers, including setup and configuration of Windows servers, the Web server, Linux Servers and Solarius servers, workstation setup, trouble shooting and repair, maintenance to ensure backup of servers and infrastructure components and interfacing with end users to resolve desktop, server, and networking problems. The second type of support required is for database and software development support. This task includes backup and recovery of databases, database development and support for the Electronic Warfare Modeling and Simulation (EWMS) Library Document management system and configuring and designing databases. The third type of support required is for Microsoft (MS) Collaboration Tool Administration support. This task includes configuration and monitoring of Microsoft Collaboration tools such as MS Project Server and MS Share Point, conducting training and support for end users on MS collaboration tools, and configuring MS collaboration tools for the existing environment to obtain optimal use. It is contemplated that one award will be made resulting from this solicitation, and that the successful offeror will perform all three tasks. The successful offeror will be required to provide equipment and materials, and a full time system engineer, a part time database administrator and a part time software engineer. The systems engineer is required to experience maintaining Microsoft/Linux/ and Unix networks. The database administrator is required to have experience configuring and maintaining ORACLE databases. The software engineer is required to have 5 years experience with MS Project Server and MS SharePoint applications. All personnel are required to have SECRET clearances. This procurement is set aside 100% for small business concerns. This is a new requirement, there is no incumbent contractor. The period of performance is for one year with options for four additional one year periods of performance. NRL uses Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and amendments to RFPs. Paper copies of the RFP will not be provided. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the agency. This requirement is full and open competition.
