Description
The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions posed by potential vendor. Question: The spec states that you will be using an existing 2500 gallon storage tank. I am looking for the Materials of construction, and the type of tank that exists (cone bottom, flat bottom etc.)? Answer: The tank is made of high density polyethylene and it has a flat bottom. Question: Where is the location of the system in the building (basement, ground floor, penthouse)? Answer: The system is on the ground floor. Question: What exactly is the water being used for, the end product usage patterns (is all the water being used at once, slowly over a 8hr. period, slowly over a 24hr. period, ect.), number of points of use, the distance of the points of use from the storage tank, pipe specifications of the polishing loop, and whether the loop piping is the responsibility of the vendor? Answer: The water is used in a facility that measures the volume contained in test measures. We want pure water so that we can know its density by making a measurement of temperature alone. The relationship between temperature and density is well known for pure water and if the water has the specified purity, we will be able to calculate the density from the temperature with sufficient accuracy. The water usage varies widely. On occasions the entire 2500 gallon tank will be used in a single day of testing. Other times, the water will sit in the 2500 gallon tank unused for many consecutive weeks. The water is presently used at two points about 20 feet from the 2500 gallon tank. There is presently no polishing loop and the installation of the loop is the vendors responsibility. Question: The spec states that the incoming feed water has a conductivity > of 2100 ohm/cm. Ohm/cm is a measure of resistivity, is this number resistivity or conductivity? Answer: The resistivity of the incoming feed water is 2100 ohm * cm. All terms and conditions of the original solicitation, including the closing date, remain unchanged and in full effect.
