- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), with TA Instruments, 109 Lukens Drive, New Castle, JDE 19720 for the following calibration and maintenance services for RTA equipment that NIST owns. Part No. 999800-001 – Accessory Support Contact for Thermal Analysis Accessories, Accessory contact for PCWA, GCA, LNCA, or RCS used on thermal analysis modules., Only applicable as part of a Basic, Plus or Premium contract. Includes all repair parts, onsite labor and travel. May be replaced with comparable model if necessary, rather than repair onsite. Part No. 999800.014 – Premium Support contact for Q1000/2000 DSC Q series module, Include: Unlimited service visit, (1) PMV, repair parts, onsite labor, travel, and unlimited access to in-house training courses and eTraining course, Also includes limited coverage for DS cells and furnaces. Part No. 999800-018 – Premium Support contact for Q500 TGA Q series module. Includes; Unlimited service visits, (1) PMV, repair parts, onsite labor, travel and unlimited access to in-house training course and eTraining course, also include limited coverage for JTGA furnaces. Based on NIST’s recent market research, NIST has only identified the one source that can provide the required services: TA Instrument. TA Instruments has no trained outside source than can perform calibration of maintenance service on their own equipment. TA will not warranty equipment that has been calibrated or serviced by outside vendors. Therefore, instruments need to be maintained b TA only. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed-price purchase order. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations; however, companies that believe they can fulfill the requirement may provide a written response to this notice and provide clear unambiguous evidence to substantiate that capability. A determination by the Government whether to compete this proposed requirement based upon response to this notice is sole with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose determining whether to conduct a competition..
