- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) webpage located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) website located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to procure a Bench-Top 4 Axis CNC Mill, qty 1 each. The Hydra Hunter Program has developed a need to have a small bench-top CNC Mill to do short run rapid prototyping. The mill will be used to produce components to check the form and fit of mechanical hardware. The parts will also be used to check drawing accuracy for said hardware. The mill will also be used to manufacture small run circuit boards for testing. The specifications for the Mill are as follows: the Mill must have a tool envelope of no less than 18 x 7 x 6 inches (larger is preferred); the mill must include a 4th axis (rotary table); the mill must have an enclosure to keep debris and noise to a minimum; the mill must include either an automated tool changing mechanism or a quick change spindle; the mill package must include a table to secure parts to e.g. T-slot table or a grid of tapped holes; the mill package must include control software that will allow manual and machine control of the mill. The Request For Quote (RFQ) Number is N00178-08-Q-3038. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR 13 as a Firm Fixed Price purchase order. The requirement will be a 100% small business set aside. The NAICS Code is 333515 and the FSC Code is 34217. Pricing will be FOB Destination to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Attn: Receiving Officer, 6220 Tisdale Road, Dahlgren, VA 22448-5114. Therefore, the quote must include all applicable shipping charges. The required delivery is 60-90 days after receipt of order. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY REQUEST FOR QUOTATION, AS ALL ITEMS ARE SPECIFIED UNDER THIS NOTICE AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The closing date is 26 August 2008, 12:00 PM local time. Anticipated award date is 04 September 2008.
