- The U.S. Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID),intends tonegotiate a firm-fixed price, sole-source simplified acquisition, under the authority of FAR 13.106(b), with the City of Idaho Falls, for the purchaseof alaw enforcement dual purpose explosives/patrol and or narcotics/patrolcanine.Funding would also cover the initial training of the canine and handler.Thisis in accordance with a long-standing Memorandum of Understanding thatcontainsthe terms of a loan agreement between the DOE-ID and the City of IdahoFallsrelating to canine surveys. The City of Idaho Falls has jurisdiction andisthe responding law enforcement agency for the DOE-ID facilities in IdahoFalls. The cost of this acquisition is not anticipated to exceed $13,500.TheNAICS is 922120. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, any entitythatbelieves it can meet the requirements may give written notification priortothe response due date. Responses are required to be submitted beforeSeptember3, 2008, 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time. Responses shall be submitted via e-mailtostallmkm@id.doe and supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficientdetailto demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements listed. Responsesreceived will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government nottocompete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice issolelywithin the discretion of the Government. Telephone requests or inquireswillnot be accepted.
