- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or presolicitation and this notice does not guarantee that a solicitation will be posted in the future. This information is being submitted for the purpose of seeking sources only. Fort Polk, LA seeks small business sources to provide a replacement 4WD Brush Truck which will primarily be used off-road. The truck must be light and maintain good off-road characteristics. It must be equipped with a water tank to use for rapid fire suppression. In addition, the truck will need to be equipped with a compact, lightweight, electric powered compressed air foam system (CAFS). Fabrication of the Brush Truck shall be executed as described in the below Scope of Work. Scope of Work Truck shall be latest year model Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD, regular cab 4WD. Bed shall be model OS, 96 L X 90W or equivalent. 8 X 1/8 steel flat bar will be used to form side storage baskets and water tank retainer. Rear of bed shall be equipped with four 36-inch tall grab handles to allow personnel to safely mount and dismount bed. Rear 36-inch of top of bed and rear step bumper shall be coated with non-slip bed liner material. Bed headache rack shall have two rear floodlights on outer corners and two radio antenna mount brackets 6 inches inboard of the floodlights. Each rear corner of bed shall have a red rectangular strobe light mounted on the back surface. Bed shall have a 24 X 18 X 18 underbed tool box on the front of each side. Water tank shall be constructed from -inch thick clear poly material and shall be 48L X 48W X 32H. Tank shall have two transverse and two longitudinal internal baffles on 16 inch centers constructed of -inch thick clear poly material with notched corners or 2-inch diameter holes to allow water and air flow at top and bottom. Tank shall have two fill caps on rear top corners. Fill caps shall be 8L X 8W X 8H with hinged caps. Each rear bottom corner of tank shall have 2-inch NPT coupling with a brass ball shutoff valve. Behind each valve shall be a 2-inch brass NPT T-fitting. Top of tank shall have an 8-inch tall lip of thick clear poly material to form a storage basket with -inch diameter drain holes on 16-inch centers. Water pump shall be a National Fire Fighter Corp. Forester Fire pump14280 with an 18HP Honda engine, or equivalent. Pump shall be equipped with low oil shutdown, low pressure shut-off switch and a control panel. Hose reel shall be a Coxreels 1175 series Model 1175-6-150 suffix ED, or equivalent, and shall be equipped with a top rewind guide roller assembly and 100 foot of 1-inch diameter booster hose with a 1-inch pistol-grip ball shut-off valve and an adjustable gallonage nozzle. CAFS unit shall be a Reel CAF 24-volt system with 100 feet of 1-inch booster hose and a 1-inch pistol-grip ball shut-off valve with a 1-inch adjustable gallonage nozzle and two each of 3/16, and 3/8 smooth-bore tips. All fittings on water pump and CAFS unit shall be NH thread. CAFS unit shall be powered by two batteries with 24-bolt charging system. Truck shall be equipped with 6-inch rearview color camera system and 97 decibel backup alarm. Truck shall be equipped with 44-inch strobe-type light bar with eight strobes, two takedown lights, and two alley lights. A remote control 400,000 candle power spotlight shall be mounted on top of light bar. Corners of front bumper shall have two red rectangular strobe lights. Truck shall have wigwag headlight flasher system. Truck shall have electronic siren with PA and light control with a 100-watt speaker mounted in a horizontal 4-unit stacking system on cab floor hump. Stacking system shall have three microphone brackets. Truck shall be equipped with a 5-pound ABC-rated dry chemical fire extinguisher and a 2.5 gallon water pressure extinguisher. Hose nozzles shall be secured by flex-mount brackets. Information obtained as a result of this notice will be used in completion of market research to determine the level of interest, particularly small business interest, in providing the required Brush Truck as specified to Fort Polk, LA. The following information must be submitted with each response: (1) Name, address of company, point of contact, and phone number (2) Small Business declaration statement (if applicable) as defined by the Small Business Administration, (3) Central Contractor Registration (www.bpn.gov) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (orca.bpn.gov) proof of registration or statement of intent to register. (4) A list of references where the company has provided similar items. (5) Provide the approximate time period required to complete one Brush Truck. (6) Provide digital pictures of like/similar work.
