- This is not a solicitation, but a Notice of Purchase Action. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, Boise Idaho, VISN20 Contracting Office, intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) equipment purchase order to Kinetic Concepts Inc. The Bariatric Barimaxx II Bed in question will be utilized at the Boise VA Medical Center. Under the authority of USC 2304 (c) (1) pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a) (ii), the property or services needed by the agency are available from only one responsible source or only from a limited number of responsible sources and no other type of property or services will satisfy the needs of the agency. A determination not to compete this proposed contract is based on market research and is solely within the discretion of the Government. This announcement is not a request for competitive quotations. Inquires should be directed no later than, 2:00 PM, 17 September, 2008 referencing VA-260-08-RI-0486 to John MacBride, Contract Specialist, 208-422-1378, john.macbride@va.gov. The Government will review all responses, without prejudice and determine if another firm is fully qualified to fulfill the Boise VA Medical Center requirement. Note: If documents are sent via e-mail, the contractor will be responsible for validating Government receipt by calling Acquisitions at (208) 422-1378.
