- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. NNM08263079Q-1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQFOR FABRICATION OF TEST DATA CABLES. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) intheir quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and awritten amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to address questions received via email. Question:It is understood that NASA will supply cable, connector and label materials are supplied. Can you send me a bill of materials that will be provided such that I can evaluate thewhat materials I may need to provide and thus, properly estimate the associated labor?Answer:A bill of materials:1) Multi/Cable L8024-10CSF. 76,000 total ft.Shortest lengths not known yet.2) Amphenol PC06P-12-8S(SR) circular connector. 220 ea.3) Amphenol MS3116F12-10P circular connector. 500 ea.4) Amphenol MS3116F12-10S circular connector. 300 ea.5) 460 pairs of shrink tube labels. Two groups of labels, one group for each type ofcable.Labels will be sequentially numbered. Because of this, no extra labels will beshipped. If labels are damaged in shipping or fabrication, the vendor will need tocontact me for replacements.Question:The Statement of Work calls for lacing cord ties at three feet intervals. Is the amountof unbundled cable at the ends to be three feet? Are the tie points independent orshould there be a continuous run, i.e. uncut lacing cord running the entire length ofthe cable with retaining loops at the specified interval?I need to verify that there are only eight conductors plus shield on the 10 pin to 10pin cables per item 7 of the Statement of Work.Answer:Yes, three feet should be left at the ends.2) Tie points should be independent.3) Yes, only 8 of the conductors plus the shield are going to be used in this extensioncable.Question:What type of cable is used (would it be possible to have a description of the material tobe supplied by NASA)?How will the cable be supplied (size of spools, etc.)?Answer:The cable in question is specified as: "Multi-conductor instrumentation cable. Ten conductor, 24 gauge (7/32) stranded tinnedcopper. PVC insulation, overall foil shield and drain wire with PVC jacket per UL Style2464."2) We did not specify how much cable to put on a spool. We did specify no more than15,000 pounds per spool because of our forklift capacity. Elizabeth.e.mudler@nasa.gov is the correct email address for correspondance. The due date for receipt of offers not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 09/04/2008.
