Description

RING UPGRADE KIT AND LASER WAVELENGTH METER. The solicitation number is FA8601-08-T-0083. The NAICS Code is 333314. The size standard is 500 employees. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is Spectra-Physics Lasers Division. The purchase is for a Ring upgrade kit and laser wavelength meter for the Matisse laser. Spectra-Physics Lasers Division is the only known manufacturer that can provide an upgrade kit for the exact model and configuration of the laser that is already owned by the Air Force Institute of Technology. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
