Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR CLEANINGOF LIQUID OXYGEN TANKS AND PIPING. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in theirquote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a writtenamendment will not be issued.The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions that were asked as a result of theon-site visit to Marshall Space Flight Center.Question 1: Will NASA/MSFC be responsible for removing all components from lines andtanks?If so will this be done prior to initiation of work by contractor?Answer 1: The answer to that question has already been addressed in the SOW per Section DItem 4 which states:"The Contractor is responsible for the removal, cleaning and reinstallation of allflanges and pipe spools associated with the tanks and piping outlined in Section D Items1 and 2. MSFC will supply to the Contractor for installation all required flange gasketsthat have been cleaned and batch tested in accordance with MSFC-SPEC-164B. MSFC willsupply to the Contractor for installation the required cleaned end connections on Levels10 and 12 called out in Section D Item 2 Segments 2 and 3 for final closure."The only components MSFC will remove prior to contractor arrival is the valve referencedin Section D Item 2 Segment 2 and the pipe spool referenced in Section D Item 2 Segment 3on levels 10 and 12, respectively.Question 2: Is the cleaning for the inside of the tanks and piping only?Answer 2: The type of work mentioned in the SOW and MSFC-SPEC-164B are for the insideportion of the tank and pipe only.The due date for receipt of offers is not extended.Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on August 26, 2008. Documents related to thisprocurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web(WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
