- SUBJECT: Haas TL-2 Lathe Solicitation Number: Response Date: 12 September 2008 The U.S. Army Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command (JM & L LCMC) has a requirement to purchase a Lathe with expanded memory, chip enclosure, coolant pump 40GB hard disk, Ethernet and USB interface, 10 3-jaw zero set scroll chuck, manual tailstock, early power failure detection module,rigid tapping, work light, air blow gun and 4 station automatic tool turret. Phillips Corporation has developed the Haas TL-2 Lathe which possesses a unique ISO Standard G-code compatibility, as well as an innovative built in thread repair template, advanced control interface, rapid programming and advance supportability. JM&L LCMC intends to award a sole source contract to Phillips Corporation, Hanover, MD, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements, and avoidance of unacceptable delay in fulfilling the agencys requirements. Phillips will deliver a Lathe capable of meeting all of CNCs requirements (and immediate training) including but not limited to an important early power failure detection module. A determination of the Government not to compete this proposed effort based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government; however, responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement or submit a proposal to michael.duffy7@us.army.mil no later than September 12, 2008. Award is anticipated 24 September, 2008.
