- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio, Office of the Chief of Staff, intends to sole source this contract to Cardiac Assist, Inc., to provide four (4) Tandemheart Procedure Kits 5190-0015. One (1) Tandemheart Transseptal Cannula EF 5140-6221. One (1) Infusion Accessory Pack 5100-0011. One (1) Hollister Patch 2000-0283. On-site Technical Case Support (first two (2) cases) 5190-0004. One (1) Tandemheart Training Loop 5190-0018, full on-site training program covering three (3) days 5190-0018, and six (6) months free use of system controller. The Government believes there are no other companies that offer these products and services that will supply an alternative to the Intra Aortic Balloon Pump(IABP) which provides minimal extracorporeal circulatory support. While the Tandemheart system helps restore blood circulation through a cardiac catherization procedure in as little as 30 minutes and can provide up to five liters per minute of blood flow. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS Code 334510, size standard/500 Employees applies to this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available. Telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and services, to the Contract Specialist within seven (7) calendar days from the date of publication. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Cleveland VAMC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Cardiac Assist Inc.
