Description
Project for Repair Facility, UCTL 20080250 1.Liquidated damages will be $100.00 per calendar day. 2.Construction duration will be 30 calendar days A.PVD Cover Inspection and Repair 1. Check fabric tension around perimeter by pushing out fabric by hand from inside of structure at should height. PVC should snap sharply when released if correctly tensioned. Tighten as required. 2. Check tension rods along foundation for equal tension and lock nuts set. Tighten as required to equal tension in all rods. Tighten any loose lock nuts as required. 3. Check that the PVS covering is tensioned around the perimeter, Doors and vents. Re-attach any loose PVC. 4. Check and repair any holes or rips in the PVC cover. 5. Check lacing around doors and along gable horizontals for cuts or missing rope. Replace any rope showing signs or wear or damage with new ropes. Check that all lacing is securely tied. B.Steel Work Inspection and Repair 1.Check steelwork for missing or damaged components. Replace or repair any damaged components found. 2.Check for areas of damaged galvanization or corrosion. Remove any corrosion and cover with a zinc rich coating. 3.Spot check a sample of various bolts for tightness. Tighten as required. A325 bolts are tightened according to the turn-of-the nut method given A.I.S.C steel manual 8th edition. This states that A 325 bolts less than 4 diameters in length must be tightened an additional 1/3 turn past snug tight. Note: A325 bolts in structure are less than 4 diameters long. All non A325 bolts in structure are less than 4 diameters long. All non A325 bolts are snug tight. 4.Check wind bracing cables for proper tensioning. They should be sag free. If cables are found to have sag, tighten a minimum of two full turns past the point where all the slack has been taken out of the cable. 5. Check node restraint cables for proper tension. Node restraint cables should be free of sag and snug tight. C.Aircraft Doors Inspection and Repair 1.Replace failed or missing rubber seal on aircraft doors to include main door and tail door. The primary purpose of this repair is to keep birds out of the facility. 2.Replace the failing, steel cable on the right hand door. 3.Provide maintenance and repairs to the doors as required. 3. All work needs to be conducted by a contractor with at least five years experience with installing, adjusting, servicing and replacing parts in a frame supported tension structure.
