Description: A sole sorce is contemplated with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Materials Department CEAS, EMS 574 P.O. Box 784, Milwaukee WI 53201. US Army Tank-Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) desires to research, develop, demonstrate and evaluate lightweight, self-healing and self lubricating materials for potential Army vehicle applications. UWM has done extensive basic research in these areas and has the experience to synthesize small samples. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. TACOM-Warren will negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for this effort. TACOM-Warren plans to issue a solicitation that will result in a Firm-Fixed Price contract. The target award date is 26 September 2008. See numbered notes 22,25, and 26.
