Description

A sole source award is anticipated to be made University of Louisiana at Lafayette in support of a project title named “Prophylactic T cell vaccines against hepatitis C virus.” The source justification is as follows: The New Iberia Research Center (NIRC) is the sole source for this work because it involves three specific chimpanzees that are owned by and housed at NIRC. These three specific chimpanzees have been vaccinated with our hepatitis C vaccine. In this project, we are conducting further experiments on these vaccinated chimpanzees to determine the quality of the immune responses generated by our vaccine. These are the only 3 chimpanzees in the world that have received this vaccine. This sole source award will be made under the authority of FAR 6.302-3. FDA anticipates an award will be made on a sole source basis to: University of Louisiana at Lafayette 104 E University Ave Lafayette LA 70503-2014 If any inquiries or objection to this sole source award should be written and submitted to Dominique Malone at Dominique.Malone@fda.hhs.gov. NO PHONES CALLS PLEASE. This award will be made 5 days after the date of this notice. This award will be made under the authority of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
