- <h4 style="margin: auto 0in;"> Description- Sources Sought </h4> No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. Information Technology Infrastructure Support Services (ITISS) Introduction - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of various members of the Small Business Community. The type of solicitation issued will depend upon the responses to this sources sought synopsis. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsive contractors. The CDC is seeking industry feedback on technical and financial capabilities from small businesses that are certified small in NAICS 541513 for a task order supporting CDC's Information Technology Infrastructure Support Services (ITISS). This task will be a successor to the current CDC Microcomputer Service Support (MSS) contract. The current MSS contract expires February 28, 2009 but the successor task should be awarded the end of December 2008 to allow a 60 day contract transition. The current estimated value is between $20 - $30 million per year. Current ITISS Objectives and Scope The following general functions are covered in the current MSS contract which is held by QSS/PEROT under the Department of Commerce COMMITS contract: The objective of ITISS is to provide performance-based integrated comprehensive, responsive, efficient, and cost-effective information technology infrastructure support services, which incorporates all HHS and CDC technical and security standards and requirements. IT infrastructure services include: (1) PC Hardware and Software installation and support; (2) Application Server Hosting (VmWare, Wintel, Unix); (3) Infrastructure Directory Services (Microsoft Active Directory); (4) Customer Services Support (Consolidated Level I Help Desk and Level II Desktop Support); (5) E-mail (Microsoft Exchange and Blackberry); (6) Infrastructure Software (Microsoft Server 2003/2007, SMS, WSUS); (7) IT Infrastructure Security (Pointsec); (8) Networking (Cisco IOS router and switch configuration); (9) Remote Access (CITRIX); (10) Videoconferencing (Tandberg), (11) Project Management and Technical writing; (12) Property inventory The CDC provides support to approximately 15,000 customers located in Government facilities, telework locations and emergency designated locations. Government facilities, telework locations and emergency locations may be within the continental United States (CONUS) plus Alaska, Hawaii, San Juan and outside the continental United States (OCONUS) in more than thirty (30) countries. In addition to the operations of the IT infrastructure, a significant component of the work involves projects associated with upgrades and improvements to these service areas. CDC works with States, local public health agencies and partners throughout the Nation and the world to accomplish this mission. The CDC serves as the national focus for developing and applying disease prevention and control, environmental health, and the health promotion and education activities designed to improve the health of the people of the United States and throughout the world. These responses will help us to ascertain if there are small businesses with solid technical and financial capabilities to do this work. The Government will not reimburse the contractor for the capability statement. Responses are considered market research and may be utilized in developing an acquisition strategy and work statement. Any information deemed proprietary should be clearly marked. Responses to this sources sought should be e-mailed as a.pdf or MS-Word document (not to exceed 10 pages) to: SVL3@cdc.gov. Responses are due no later than 11:00 PM EDT September 22, 2008. The sole purpose of this Sources Sought is to assist CDC in identifying quality and experienced small businesses that are certified as small business in NAICS Code 541513 on GSA Schedule 70, SIN # 132 51. The CDC will not respond back to companies that submit responses to this Sources Sought. Additionally, no inquiries will be answered. CDC is in no way obligated to make an award based upon this announcement Industry Questions – Please respond to the following broad questions by providing your capabilities and credentials to perform the work described. 1. Technical Capability – How is your company technically able to meet or exceed all requirements described as a prime contractor performing a preponderance of the work? Provide two examples of work your company has performed as the prime contractor similar in scope and size. 2.
