- Concerns having the ability to furnish the services described herein are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to the procuring office above within 10 calendar days from the date of this synopsis. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), National Water Quality Laboratory, Lakewood, CO has a requirement for software support for StarLIMS; Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) customized software. The NWQL, located in Lakewood, Colorado, is responsible for processing, analyzing and reporting chemical results to customers on water, sediment, and biological materials. This also includes the use of contract laboratories. To effectively and efficiently manage the workload, a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is used. An off-the-shelf package with customization was purchased from StarLIMS in 1998. Based on the information at this time, the government considers the services specified as a sole source from StarLIMS, 4000 Hollywood Blvd Ste 515-S, Hollywood, FL 33021-6768, and proposes to negotiate a contract with the firm on that basis. The USGS requirement is for a base year contract and three (3) option years. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, request for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the Governments only official notice of this procurement. This is a Fiscal Year 2009 requirement and funds are not presently available.
