- Department of Homeland Security Customs & Border Protection Tools & Parts Tools and Parts - Introduction and Purpose The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Business Transformation Program Office (BTPO) initiated a business case analysis (BCA) of the Office of Border Patrol (OBP) tools and parts management function. The purpose of this study is to evaluate opportunities to reduce cost and improve performance. Your input will help determine industry's capacity and interest in providing tools and parts services to OBP. This Request For Information (RFI) is being issued on an open market basis to the private sector community. This RFI is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), and nothing shall be construed herein or through the RFI process to commit or obligate the Government to further action as a result of the RFI. In addition, contractors responding to this RFI shall bear all risk and expense of any resources used to provide the requested information. The information collected through this process is considered to be market research as described by FAR 2.101 and in accordance with FAR 10.002(b)(2)(iii). Responses are to be generated through the use of the following web site survey. Please complete the electronic questionnaire and select "done" NLT COB October 16, 2008. The questions are divided into two sections: (1) basic company information and (2) service capabilities. (1) The company information questions cover contact information, North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes, Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code, Dun & Bradstreet Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS), Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC), Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Number, General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule Contract Number, and Socio-Economic Indicators. (2) The service capabilities questions allow for CBP to evaluate current firm functional capabilities, past performance and level of interest.
