Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD The Contracting Center of Excellence on behalf of the Office of the Deputy of the Administrative Assistant (OAA), U.S.A. Information Technology Agency (USAITA), Data Center Services in accordance with FAR subpart 6.3, intends to execute a Firm Fixed Price contract under other than full and open competition sole source basis to NOVELL. The Government intends to purchase a proprietary software package to support the existing Novell SuSE LINUX software.. The proposed period will be one year from the date of award. This notice is valid until September 22, 2008 and is NOT a Request for Proposals. The Government does not intend to submit a solicitation for proposals. The Government shall not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for any technical information provided. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. REQUIREMENTS: The contractor will provide renewal of software licenses and maintenance and requires the following: a. Software maintenance that will include new software releases, problem resolution services and correction of software errors identified by the government in the use of the software. b. The software maintenance releases shall be scheduled by the vendor and and correction of known software problems will be identified to eliminate deficiencies to improve the operational effectiveness of the original software. c. Problem resolution services refers to a customer hotline where the contractor will provide telephone technical support to users of its software products in exploration, identification and correction of problems associated with the use of software. d. These services will not require the procurement of new software products. There is NO solicitation document. This notice is not a request for quotes. Capability statements must be received by this office within 5 calendar days from publication of this notice.
