- Description
- This is not a request for either a quote or proposal. The intent of this notice is to identify potential offerors for waste collection services to be provided at the Morehead City Port, in Morehead City, North Carolina. The Contractor will be required to furnish, maintain, and service one, eight (8) cubic yard front-loading waste collection container. The container shall be placed by the Contractor at a specified location at the Morehead City Port Terminal. The Contractor shall empty the container weekly. The collection shall occur every Friday. If Friday is an approved holiday, the pick-up may occur on the Thursday before the holiday. The Contractor will be responsible for the proper disposal of all waste collected. The Contractor will assume total responsibility for the collected waste from the point of pick-up to the point of disposal. The Government will not be held liable under any condition for incidental matters occurring during transportation or travel. The Contractor shall provide routine maintenance for the container. The physical appearance of the container shall be maintained in a presentable condition at all times. Examples of required maintenance include, but are not limited t! o, painting the entire container, repairing damaged lids or doors, etc. This requirement shall exclude radioactive, volatile, explosive, toxic, or other hazardous material which might be harmful to the Contractor's employees or equipment or which is restricted by Government regulations regarding solid waste collection or disposal. The Government will be responsible for insuring that such unacceptable materials are not placed in the container. However, material such as lumber not more that four (4) feet in length, cardboard, and normal waste from food establishments and office spaces will be permitted. The contract term will be a base period of one (1) year plus four (4) option years. The total term of the contract, including all options, will not exceed 60 months. In certain circumstances, the Government may require the Contractor to continue performance for an additional period up to six (6) months under the Option to Extend Services clause. In either case, the Government will not synopsize the options when exercised. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 562111, and the small business size standard is $12.5 million. Proposals will be evaluated based on price. Interested parties should, as soon as possible but no later than 3 October 2008, notify Rachel Ashton via email at rachel.a.ashton@navy.mil. As a part of the notification, interested parties should verify that they are able to meet all of the technical requirements outlined in this notice. Interested parties are also required to submit their DUNS number, CAGE code, and business classification e.g. large business, small business, 8(a) business, HUBZONE business, SDB, SDVOSB, etc. Notifications of interest must be submitted in writing via email; phone calls will not be accepted. Notifications that do not address all the required information will not be considered.
