Description
US Army CECOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) intends to modify sole source contract W15P7T-06-D-B207 with, BAE Systems, Inc., 164 Totowa Road, Wayne, New Jersey 07474, to increase the contracts ordering ceiling by $19.4M from $25.5M to $44.9M and extend the contracts ordering period from 8 January 2011 to 8 January 2014 by utilizing three (3) option periods for AN/ASN-157 Doppler Navigation Sets (DNSs), NSN: 6605-01-323-9061, part number P510A003-02. The DNS is a key sensor component used to provide highly accurate, three-dimensional velocity and navigation data on various aircraft platforms, including the AH-64D Longbow Apache, MH-47E Chinook, and MH-60K Blackhawk helicopters. The AN/ASN-157 DNSs to be acquired are used to replace earlier generation DNSs that are still in use on various aircraft platforms. The DNS is essential to the operation of the Apache, Chinook and Blackhawk helicopters. Without this equipment, the helicopters are non-mission capable and, therefore, they would not be available to support critical mission operations. Currently, the contracts period of performance is from 8 January 2006 through 8 January 2011. Though the government possesses a performance specification, BAE is the only known manufacturer in the current marketplace that has the intimate knowledge of the antenna, calibration data and circuit design to build the DNS that meets the Armys form, fit and function as described in the performance specification. Any updates to this synopsis will be posted to the website maintained at the CECOM LCMC, Fort Monmouth, Interactive Business Opportunities Page at https://abop.monmouth.army.mil. Registration for user ID and password will be necessary in order to access the webpage. Please contact IBOP help desk, toll free at 1-888-414-6277 for any technical assistance.
