Description
The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to negotiate a contract on an other than full and open competition basis with John Hopkins University (JHU) 3400 North Charles Street W-400 Wyman Park, Baltimore. The required services entail the High Resolution Allele Typing 173 Class I tests and 173 Class II tests, for volunteers vaccinated against Bacillus anthracis with Anthrax Vaccine Adsorbed (AVA). This is a continuance of the services awarded to JHU in support of the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIIDs) Research Project 07-18 entitled Anthrax Vaccine Adsorbed A Systems Biology Approach to Determining the Factors Mediating Safety and Immunogenicity and USAMRIIDs Research Project 05-27 entitled Correlation of Antibody Levels and TNA Levels to HLA Haplotypes Genotypes in Recipients of the Anthrax Vaccine, II. It is paramount that these research projects results be scientifically sound and therefore capable of withstanding the greatest amount of scientific question and scrutiny. The only way to ensure the consistency and scientific merit of the tests is for them to be performed by the same source. Minute differences in results of these kinds of tests occur between sources. Those small differences between vendors are enough to compromise the science. Therefore, the same source must perform all of the HLA typing throughout these research projects. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Any responses to this synopsis must be provided in writing and include qualifications, experience, past performance and proposed costs to provide this type of services. All responses will be considered be reviewed and considered for future requirements of this type. Your responses should be provided by 5:00 pm Eastern Standard time on Friday September 26, 2008. Provide responses to pamela.nevels@amedd.army.mil.
