- As part of Nevada Automotive Test Centers LAV Survivability and Marine Personnel Carrier Test Demonstrator trade studies in support of TACOM and PM-LAV, a combined LAV Survivability/MPC Industry Day will take place at the NATC facility, 605 Fort Churchill Road, Silver Springs, NV on 14 17 October, 2008. The LAV Survivability Program involves ballistic and shock absorbing seats to replace floor-mounted seats, fuel cell protection with self-sealing fuel containment capabilities and/or exterior mounted tanks, and floor protection/structural chassis reinforcements/spall liners/weld seam reinforcements to mitigate blast effects to the internal crew area. Industry Day events include: 1.Overview presentations of the program objectives by NATC 2.Walkaround of legacy LAVs and other vehicles 3.Opportunities for one-on-one discussions regarding your product and its potential applicability to the LAV Survivability and/or MPC projects. Day 1 will focus on LAV Survivability. Day 2 will focus on MPC Survivability and Onboard Power. Day 3 will look at MPC Mobility and Vehicle Health Monitoring Systems and the last day, Day 4 will be devoted to MPC Vehicle & Systems Integration. If you are interested in attending this event please send an email to Linda.k.passeri@us.army.mil no later than 08 October 2008 with your company name, the name(s) of those who will attend, their citizenship, and security clearance level. Also include which days you will be attending. Due to the expanse of this event, request that companies try to limit the number of attendees to two people. If you are unable to attend, this does not exclude you from submitting your product for consideration on the LAV Survivability or MPC efforts.
