Description
The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Marine Engineering Division, has a requirement for drydock repairs to NOAA vessel RAINIER. The contractor shall provide all facilities, supervision, material, and labor necessary to perform modifications, repairs, and preservation to NOAA vessel RAINIER. The location for dockside repairs will be at a Government provided facility or the contractor's facility, and will be determined prior to issuance of the solicitation. Performance of work is scheduled to begin approximately December 9, 2008 and complete February 15, 2009. The vessel will be available for pre-bid inspection on approximately November 17, 2008 at a Puget Sound location. A pre-bid inspection can be arranged by calling the vessel's Port Engineer at (206) 553-7599. The work consists of approximately 16 basic items, and 8 optional items. Basic work includes, but is not limited to: Dry Docking; ABS Special Survey; Underwater Haul Preservation; Hull and Topside Preservation; CPP and Shaft Inspection and Repairs; Main Propulsion Shaft Seal Inspection and Repairs; Bow Thruster Inspection and Repairs; Rudder and Rudder Stock Inspections; Ranging of Anchor Chain; Sea Valves; Replacement of Speed Log; Ventilation Cleaning; Replace water deflector for PME SW Pump Vent line; Install Port Side TSG Overboard in Lodar Room; Calibrate Switchboard Meters; and Remove Unused Seachest Blow Down Valve for Bow Thruster SW Supply. Optional Items include, but are not limited to: Zincs; Replace Anchor Chain (per one shot); Transducer Cleaning; Magnetic Hold Back Installation for Fire Boundary Doors; Install Waste Oil Pipe to Incinerator; Cover Insulation of 078 Lounge Overhead; Preservation of Ventilation Space in Stack; Replace Galley Sink Drain Piping. General Vessel specifications: Length 231ft; Beam 42ft; Draft 14.3ft, Full Load Displacement 1,800 metric tons. The proposed contract is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The NAICS code for this procurement is 336611 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. Any resulting contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price contract.
