Description
Procurement is for a furnish-and-install package to erect a steel heavy-duty pallet rack at the Hill Air Force Maintenance Depot, USA Medical Material Agency, MCMR-MMM-DU, 6149 Wardleigh Road, Building 1160, Bay 1, Hill Air Force Base, UT 84056-5848. This new procurement is a side-by-side installation with an existing pallet rack procurement from Pro Lift. To achieve engineering continuity and for preventive maintenance purposes, the new pallet rack needs to tie in with the existing unit, with equivalent special foot plates and corresponding heavy-duty steel reinforcements that comply with zone three seismic requirements. The new rack procurement needs to complement the existing rack by having the new steel beams structurally intersect and interchange exactly with the existing steel beams, maintaining and complementing the existing architectural configuration without compromising the pounds per square inch capability. Pro Lift is able to provide the engineering continuity during the erection process that can not be provided by others, as well as ensure the compatibility of the new and existing rack system and guarantee that stress load requirements will not be abridged during or after erection. In the absence of drawings and precise architectural specifications, the ability to compete this procurement is limited inasmuch as it is a side-by-side installation, an expansion of the current pallet rack in which the new pallets are interconnected with the existing structure, which was erected by Pro-Lift in 2005. After fulfillment of the current procurement, it is anticipated that upcoming rack requirements will be competed, since spatial configuration requires future pallet racks be erected as stand alone units.
