- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N40442-09-T-5001, and it is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26. NAICS 333618 applies. The Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program is not applicable. Military Sealift Fleet Support Command (MSFSC), Virginia Beach, VA intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order for technical services for the Main Diesel Engine Cabling inspection for the USNS Sacagawea. Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts are required. Any offer for other than OEM (Fairbanks Morse Engine) parts will not be considered. The requested period of performance for the above service is 20 October through 02 November 2008. The list Shall include the following: 5.3.1Persons full Name 5.3.2Social Security Number, or passport#, or naturalization number. 5.3.3Place of Birth 5.3.4Date of Birth 5.3.5The access requests shall be faxed on company letterhead to Brenda Westerhaus, Ph: 757-417-4535; Fax: 757-417-4542. 5.4Port Engineer Contact is John Massey, Cell Phone: 757-434-2903, E-Mail: john.massey@navy.mil 6.0QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None 7.0STATEMENT OF WORK: 7.1Provide the service of one (1) Authorized Fairbanks Morse Engine (FME) OEM rep. The OEM shall be a Sr. Service Tech Rep experienced with MAN B&W 48/68 engines and the T-AKE Class. All work shall be performed by an authorized Fairbanks Morse Engine Service Representative. Check end connections for tightness and proper shielding. Remove a sample of conductors from Wago terminals and determine if conductor stands were removed or damaged in order to fit the conductor into the Wago terminal. Determine if tinning conductor strands or installing ferrules on stranded wires would improve circuit reliability. Submit an "as found" condition report. 7.4Inspect each splash oil RTD and associated electrical cable and wiring. Inspect for loose connections and damaged electrical cabling and wiring. Submit an "as found" condition report. 7.5Use hot pot and test each splash oil RTD circuit. Submit an "as found" condition report. 7.6For rpm sensing circuits (W110, W190, W 191, W891, and W 892) on all four main diesels, remove existing electrical cable and install new GFM LS2SUS3 electrical cable. (Note Beach Panel and Controls will provide and pull the new electrical cable.
