Description: DESC: NSN: 1005-01-255-4233, Part Number 12597040-1, The item to procure is a Blade, Front sight, material is 4140 or 41L40 Alloy Steel Bar. Blade length is 11.9mm nominal; Blade width is 1.3mm nominal; Blade height is 9.8mm nominal. Requirements are 3,000 each, Blade Front Sight (Guaranteed Quantity); The resulting contract will be a 3 year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite quantity, (IDIQ) contract; FOB is Destination. Proposals will be evaluated utilizing a best value approach. Award of a contract will be made to the offeror whose proposal offers the best value to the Government based on Price and Performance Risk. Performance Risk will be evaluated using the Past Performance Information Retrieval System Statistical Reporting (PPIRS-SR). See Section L for proposal content and submission requirements. See Section M for information on proposal evaluation and the basis for award. This item is used on the 7.62MM Machine Gun. Proposed contract is 100% small business set-aside. Estimated issue date is September, 30 2008. This solicitation incorporates a Technical Data Package (TDP) that cannot be provided via the internet. Before a TDP package can be provided, a non-disclosure and non-use agreement must be completed and returned to TACOM LCMC (RI), Attn: AMSTA-LC-WSCA/Ms. Sue McGregor, Rock Island, IL 61299-7630 or completed forms may be faxed to Ms. McGregor at (309) 782-0241 or emailed to sue.mcgregor@us.army.mil. A copy of the agreement will be included as an attachment to the solicitation and will not be available until the solicitation is issued. A TDP will be provided by normal mail after the non-disclosure and non-use agreement has been executed. A license agreement between FN Herstal and the US Government requires the items procured to be manufactured exclusively in the US and Canada. The successful offeror under this solicitation agrees to manufacture the items being procured under this contract, exclusively in the US and Canada. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided.
