Description
PSNS & IMF, NW RMC announces an upcoming procurement for the repair and preservation of 83 tanks and underwater hull/freeboard on the USS EMORY S LAND (AS-39). Specifically, the Underwater Hull and Tank package consists of the following work item types: 1. Complete Preservation of the Underwater Hull and Freeboard; approximately 131,000 square feet.2. Inspect and Repair departures on the Underwater Hull, Tanks, Voids, and ship's Inner Bottom.3. Modify ship's Fuel Overflow, Tank Level Indicators, Marine Sanitation Device, CHT Sewage System, and Oily Waste Tank.4. Preserve CHT Tanks and Chain Lockers.5. Minor Repairs to various ship's Piping Systems. The Government intends to award a best value, Firm Fixed Price Contract to the successful offeror, limited to the West Coast. The RFP will be issued on/about 14 OCT 2008. Past Performance Information is anticipated on/about 14 NOV 2008. Proposals will be due on/about 1 DEC 2008 with anticipated award date of 12 DEC 2008. The period of performance will be date of award through 15 MAY 2009. Thi s procurement is restricted to sources who currently hold, or are qualified for and willing to enter into an Agreement for Boat Repair/Master Ship Repair Agreement (ABR/MSRA) in accordance with DFARS 217.7100 (prior to award) may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by this agency. Firms who do not possess either an ABR or MSRA are ineligible for award unless adequate time exists to permit an assessment of the ABR/MSRA application and to execute the ABR/MSRA agreement(s) without impacting the vessel's availability dates.
