- The government intends to Sol Source the requirement of Aircraft Life Fire Training to Western Virginia University (Fire Service Extension MA 3000). The training requirement is to assist the Fort Knox Fire Department in meeting 14 CFR Part 139 Certification of Airports. The training should include fires from the 1300 square/foot pit, engine fires, wheel fires, internal cabin fires, hazardous materials scenarios, and anti-terrorism training. The system must be fully compliant to FAA Advisory Circular 150-5220-17A for mobile aircraft fire simulators. The additional simulations are to include: Main cabin fire, high wing, low wing, and turbojet engine fire configurations, baggage fire, cockpit smoke, wheel/brake fire with explosion/noise generator, and large 1300 sq-ft fuel spill fire. The fires are to be controlled. All contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be eligible for award of a contract. Faxed offers and amendments will not be accepted.
