Description

This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is seeking sources/vendors capable of providing currency straps and bundle bands with heat sensitive adhesive used for currency packaging. The specification is attached for reference only. You are requested to provide an answer to the following questions: 1. Is your business a large or small business? 2. If your business is small, does your firm qualify as a small emerging business, or a small disadvantaged business? 3. If your company is disadvantage, please specify under which disadvantaged group and is your firm certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? 4. Is your firm a certified "hub zone" firm? 5. Is your firm a woman-owned or operated business? 6. Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned? 7. Is your product listed on a GSA Schedule? After the review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, and if the Government still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published at www.FBO.gov. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered as an adequate response to any future solicitation announcement. Responses and/or questions about this source sought/request for information should be addressed to the Contract Specialist. All companies that can meet the specification are encouraged to provide a capability statement, company literature, brochures, or any other information that demonstrates that the specification can be met. Responses must be received no later than 30 October 2008 at 3:00pm EST. This notice is to help the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in determining potential sources only. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not request to be considered for a contract award. All interested parties should respond to any subsequent solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not a request to be added to a prospective offerors list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. Reimbursement will NOT be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests.
