Description

EXTENT OF THE WORK Building A, Chapel/Recreation Def 59907: (2 new exit signs, 2 tritium) Remove 2 existing tritium gas exit signs per DOE-10CFR, Part 32.22 requirements. Submit a copy of the disposal manifest documenting proper disposal to the maintenance manager. Furnish and install 2 new light emitting diode (LED) type exit signs to replace tritium exit signs. New exit signs shall comply with NEC and NFPA 101 code requirements. Include long-life battery back, test switch and indicator light. Connect exit signs to the nearest un-switched lighting circuit, furnish and install all conduit and wiring as required. Building B, Administration/Academic Def 59913: (11 egress lighting) Furnish and install dual head exit passage, egress route with a minimum of 1 foot-candle average and 0.1 foot candle minimum for egress path. Furnish and install conduit and wiring as required to wire new emergency lighting to the nearest lighting circuit serving the same respective areas. Connect ahead of any switching. Install: Two emergency egress lights in the northwest stairwell mid-landings between first and second floor, (Stairwell A) Three in the northeast stairwell mid-landings between second, third and fourth floor, (Stairwell C) Two in the small northeast stairwell between the basement and the first floor, (Stairwell B) Two, one in each the construction painting shop and the maintenance shop in the basement, and One in the food service corridor on the first floor. (location to be above opening north of elevator on wall Locate the lights and aim the heads to illuminate the egress route and provide the required illumination levels. The emergency lights shall comply with NEC and NFPA 101 code requirement and have long life battery backup, test switches and indicator lights. Match existing if possible. Building B, Administration/Academic DEF 59912: (5 exit signs) Furnish and install new light emitting diode (LED) type exit signs, two in the basement maintenance corridor, one in the construction trade painting room, one in the carpentry shop (FM), and one in the kitchen area. New exit signs shall comply with NEC and NFPA 101 code requirements. Include long-life battery back, test switch and indicator light. Connect exit signs to the nearest un-switched lighting circuit, furnish and install all conduit and wiring as required. If possible connect ahead of any switched circuit. Building B, Administration/Academic DEF 59910: (6 new exit signs, 6 tritium exit signs) Remove 6 existing tritium gas exit signs per DOE-10CFR, Part 32.22 requirements. Submit a copy of the disposal manifest documenting proper disposal to the maintenance manager. Furnish and install 6 new light emitting diode (LED) type exit signs to replace tritium exit signs. New exit signs shall comply with NEC and NFPA 101 code requirements. Include long-life battery back, test switch and indicator light. Connect exit signs to the nearest un-switched lighting circuit, furnish and install all conduit and wiring as required. Location: Two ELH trade shop, one stairwell B, one stairwell C, one boiler stairwell F, one first floor stairwell D. Building C, Cafeteria/Vocation/Property DEF 59936: (2 tritium exit signs, 5 exit signs) Remove 2 existing tritium gas exit signs per DOE-10CFR, Part 32.22 requirements. Submit a copy of the disposal manifest documenting proper disposal to the maintenance manager. Furnish and install 6 new light emitting diode (LED) type exit signs to replace tritium exit signs. New exit signs shall comply with NEC and NFPA 101 code requirements. Include long-life battery back, test switch and indicator light. Connect exit signs to the nearest un-switched lighting circuit, furnish and install all conduit and wiring as required. Location: One Stairwell E, One dining area, one property, two basement exit passageway. Building D, Gymnasium DEF 59941: (2 tritium exit signs, 2 exit signs) Remove 2 existing tritium gas exit signs per DOE-10CFR, Part 32.22 requirements. Submit a copy of the disposal manifest documenting proper disposal to the maintenance manager. Furnish and install two new light emitting diode (LED) type exit signs to replace the existing tritium exit signs. New exit signs shall comply with NEC and NFPA 101 code requirements. Include long-life battery back, test switch and indicator light. Connect exit signs to the nearest un-switched lighting circuit, furnish and install all conduit and wiring as required. Location: Install new exit sign and egress lighting in stairwell b above exit door at mid landing and above the gated area in the basement. Building D, Gymnasium DEF 59943: (2 egress lighting) Furnish and install dual head exit passage, egress route with a minimum of 1 foot-candle average and 0.1 foot candle minimum for egress path. Furnish and install conduit and wiring as required to wire new emergency lighting to the nearest lighting circuit serving the same respective areas. Connect ahead of any switching. Install: One northeast stairwell base exit door and one mid landing same stairwell. Locate the lights and aim the heads to illuminate the egress route and provide the required illumination levels. The emergency lights shall comply with NEC and NFPA 101 code requirement and have long life battery backup, test switches and indicator lights. Match existing if possible. Building K, Welcome Center DEF 59922 and 46844: (3 tritium exit signs, 3 exit signs) Remove three existing tritium gas exit signs per DOE-10CFR, Part 32.22 requirements. Submit a copy of the disposal manifest documenting proper disposal to the maintenance manager. Furnish and install three new light emitting diode (LED) type exit signs to replace tritium exit signs. New exit signs shall comply with NEC and NFPA 101 code requirements. Include long-life battery back, test switch and indicator light. Connect exit signs to the nearest un-switched lighting circuit, furnish and install all conduit and wiring as required. Building U, Female Dormitory DEF59944 and 46845: (4 tritium exit signs, 4 exit signs) Remove four existing tritium gas exit signs per DOE-10CFR, Part 32.22 requirements. Submit a copy of the disposal manifest documenting proper disposal to the maintenance manager. Furnish and install 4 new light emitting diode (LED) type exit signs to replace tritium exit signs. New exit signs shall comply with NEC and NFPA 101 code requirements. Include long-life battery back, test switch and indicator light. Connect exit signs to the nearest un-switched lighting circuit, furnish and install all conduit and wiring as required. Furnish and install conduit and wiring to 13 existing exit signs throughout building that do not currently have power. Verify location of power source. Label all electrical circuits and panels and or circuit. Dispose of 13 additional tritium exit signs. Building V, Male Dormitory DEF59945 and 46846: (11 tritium exit signs, 11 exit signs) Remove 11 existing tritium gas exit signs per DOE-10CFR, Part 32.22 requirements. Submit a copy of the disposal manifest documenting proper disposal to the maintenance manager. Furnish and install 11 new light emitting diode (LED) type exit signs to replace tritium exit signs. New exit signs shall comply with NEC and NFPA 101 code requirements. Include long-life battery back, test switch and indicator light. Connect exit signs to the nearest un-switched lighting circuit, furnish and install all conduit and wiring as required. Furnish and install conduit and wiring to six existing exit signs throughout building that do not currently have power. Verify location of power source. Label all electrical circuits and panels. GENERAL NOTES: Verify location of all tritium exit signs, new exit signs and all exit passage lighting. Coordinate with maintenance manager. Furnish and install covers for arrows that are missing in 6 exit signs. Location to be determined during the construction. Coordinate with maintenance manager. All new wiring shall be run in wire mold. No exposed rigid conduit will be accepted. Patch and repair walls as required for installation of new devices. Paint shall match existing. A: ALTERNATE Provide a cost to furnish and install conduit and wiring to existing exit signs that do not illuminate in Building B Administration/Academic. Locations: Two first floor by HR, Two second floor above fire doors in corridor, and Two on third floor above fire doors in corridor.
