- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has a requirement for the maintenance and repair of 12 Precise Power Roesel Motor Generators (RMG), previously installed at all 12 FAA NEXRAD sites to enhance the NEXRAD system availability. These sites are in rugged, remote locations in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico with difficult power supply conditions. Precise Power is the original equipment manufacturer of the product, and possesses the special tooling equipment and proprietary data. The FAA does not have the financial capability to develop specifications and drawings that will meet the FAA's requirement, allowing any other source to produce and insure comparability with existing equipment. Precise Power is the only known source to meet this requirement. Concerns having an interest in this requirement must have data rights to use the OEM's specifications and drawings.
