- THIS CONTRACTING ACTION IS A 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. This project includes: 1 - Providing all materials, equipment, and labor required to rehabilitate siding on Quarters # 1 including removal of all exterior paint surfaces (to bare wood) due to lead paint contamination and excessive peeling paint to include: siding, window/door frames and eaves. Paint chips will be properly disposed of according to approved standards and the soil surrounding the structure will be protected from contamination. Repair/replace rotten or damaged wood surfaces with products similar to existing materials. Prepare bare wood surfaces to accept primer and paint. Prime and then paint wood surfaces with two coats of paint. Refuge staff will determine paint colors. Structure is approximately 1,220 sq. ft. in size. Contractor will be responsible for removing storm windows and doors and reinstalling them upon completion of the project (20 windows and 2 doors). Crescent Lake NWR, Nebraska and, 2 - Providing all labor, materials, and equipment required to enclose "dust tight" all exterior lead based painted surfaces of approximately 412 square feet of Guest House with sealants, steel siding and metal accessories. This contract also includes providing all labor, materials, and equipment required to install approximately 336 square feet of Garage Building with steel siding and metal accessories. The site of the work is at Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge, located approximately 28 miles north of Oshkosh, Nebraska. LOCATION AND INSPECTION OF SITE Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Nebraska. Prospective bidders are encouraged to visit the work area in order to examine the existing site conditions by making arrangements with the Project Leader. Site Visit information will be listed in the solicitation. GENERAL INFORMATION The estimated magnitude of construction is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The total performance is 105 days from the Notice to Proceed. This acquisition is a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code is 238170, Siding Contractors, with a size standard of $13M. The solicitation package is anticipated to be available electronically on or about 10 October 2008 with an anticipated closing date of 10 November 2008.
