Description

DHS S&T Counter-IED (C-IED) detection program is focusing on both explosives detection (eg. TNT, RDX, etc) and explosive device detection (vest bombs, pipes, etc.). To facilitate the specific requirements associated with these program areas, DHS S&T C-IED is interested in receiving proposals under a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). The primary goals are: 1. To develop and demonstrate advanced technologies that dramatically increase the figures of merit associated with detecting explosive threats within vehicles and on people. 2. To develop a more basic understanding of the IED threat and potential countermeasures thereof. This includes a focus on a more thorough understanding of fundamental chemistry and physics, as applied to explosives and related countermeasures. This BAA consists of six Topic Areas and solicits proposals to develop and demonstrate advanced technologies, as well as contribute to a more fundamental understanding of the IED threat and potential countermeasures. Please see the attached BAA.
