Sources Sought Notice (Market Survey) US Army ARDEC, AMSCC-JML-JA, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000 Soldier & Small Unit LethalitySmall Arms Smart Sight Response Date: October 17, 2008 The US ARMY ARDEC, Picatinny NJ is seeking product information on a high performance modular laser rangefinder which may be incorporated into a Fire Control prototype. The product should be capable of +/-2 meter accuracy over a range of up to 1km. The system should consist of a transmitter unit, a receiving diode/filter combination, and a board level timer and interface module. The transmitting module should operate at a wavelength of 1.55 micrometers +/- 0.01 micrometers nominal; possess a divergence of no more than 1.7 milliradians, and a transmitting aperture of no more than 21mm. The receiving sensor (Photodiode/filter combination) must be of sufficient sensitivity to assure a probability of detection of 0.99 at a range of 500m, with a 30mm receiving aperture (customer provided). The timer/ signal processor must be capable of performing 30 range measurements per second, provide any necessary processing of the raw data, and output data over either a serial port, or a USB port. AUSB port mapped as a virtual com port would be acceptable. The system must also meet US military extreme environmental and operational safety requirements. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interests by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data as well as identification of current customers and availability of pricing for a single. All data should be sent at no cost to the US Government by October 17, 2008 to the US Army ARDEC.
