- Description
- The US Army Armament Research Development and Engineering Center, WeaponSystems and Technology Directorate, Advanced Energy Armaments Division, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, is looking for potential sources for research and development to be conducted in the area of laser induced plasma channel. The principal goal of this development is to achieve a discharge of high voltage along the filament from the source to a target with a Classified Army threshold range. Sources demonstrating militarily relevant ranges in urban environments, and/or describing in detail the modification or continuation of current range extension methods by which those militarily relevant ranges will be achieved, will be considered responsive to this solicitation. Potential offerors with experience in Laser Induced Plasma Channel (LIPC) research and development should respond, at no cost to the government, with relevant research and development that have been conducted and a description of capabilities, available facilities, hardware, and repeatable LIPC discharge ranges achieved with statistical data on discharges. Relevant research and development includes, but is not limited to: increasing the length of generated laser induced plasma channels, characterization of high voltage propagation along laser induced plasma channels, and development or improvement of laser induced plasma channel generating systems. A summary of the personnel skill levels to include technical knowledge, experience, and areas of expertise relevant to research conducted should be included. In addition, include the capability to handle classified information. The Government recognizes that proprietary and/or classified data may be a part of this effort. If so, clearly mark such restricted/proprietary and classified data and present them as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary and unclassified information.
