- Provide Professional Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Design services to EXPAND PATIENT CARE AREAS, Project # 585-333, at the VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Michigan, 49801. The project is for the design of a new patient care area as a second story addition above the existing single story Out Patient Clinic area on the east side of the Medical Center (approximately 14,200 sf). Renovation of the existing first floor Out Patient Clinic area will also be required. The project includes patient care areas for women's health, dental, imaging and other items. Mechanical space would be on the roof of the addition for HVAC to the new space and existing Out Patient Clinic. Analysis, design, cost estimates, construction documents, construction period services, As-Builts, site visits and commissioning during construction will be part of the scope of work. Estimated construction cost is between $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Area of consideration is restricted to 250 driving miles of the VA Medical Center at Iron Mountain, MI. Submit two (2) copies of the SF 330 with appropriate documentation by close of business November 7, 2008. Selection Criteria will be based on: (1) specialized experience and technical competence of the firm (including a joint venture or association) with the type of design required, (2) specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposed for assignment of the project, (3) Professional capacity of the firm in the designated geographic area of the project to perform work, (4) Past record of performance on Contracts with the Department of Veterans' Affairs, (5) Geographic location and facilities of the working office(s), (6) Demonstrated success in prescribing the use of recovered construction materials and achieving waste reduction and energy efficiency in facility design and (7) Construction cost control effectiveness and estimating accuracy. No bid packages are available. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). NAIC #541330 applies. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
