Description
The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), in support of the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command Center, is seeking information from companies, educational institutions, research and development laboratories (public, and private), or other sources about research and development capabilities that can support the International Monitoring System (IMS) in the area of airborne radionuclide detection. The IMS is a worldwide system comprised of several types of sensors, including airborne radionuclide (xenon gas and particulate) detection systems. Specifically, we are looking for promising technical capabilities that can be developed in 1-3 years that improves IMS sensor systems (improved gas and radiochemical separations, radiation detectors, control subsystems and acquisition electronics), improve algorithms and analysis tools and lead to improved operations. Participation does not imply any obligation on the part of PNNL. Interested organizations/companies/institutions are encouraged to respond to this notice by providing a whitepaper (no longer than two pages) of their research and development capabilities. Based on technical reviews of the whitepapers, requests for proposals may be sent. Please send a copy of the summary by e-mail to the following: Mr. Kevin Grubbs, Contracting Officer, kevin.grubbs@pnl.gov, Mr. Mark Panisko, mark.panisko@pnl.gov and Dr. Theodore Bowyer, ted.bowyer@pnl.gov. This is NOT a request for cost/schedule proposal.
