- The USDA Forest Service, Eastern Region has a requirement to transport heavy equipment and general freight in support of wild land fire suppression services throughout the continental United States. We are seeking sources to provide transportation management services to arrange and coordinate logistic services for the nationewide transportation of fire engines and other large/heavy equipment. The work includes (1) making all the necessary arrangements to transport equipment and TL/LTL freight from their home units to any point throughout the continental US; including obtaining the best value (considering transportation time and price) for transportation services, (2) providing an online ordering, tracking, and billing system available to up to 500 users.
