Description
The Spring Mountains National Recreation Area of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest has a need for Hand Cutting and Piling fuiels treatment services. The project area is the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest; Clark County, Nevada. The Project is approximately 22 Air Miles Southwest from Las Vegas on Highway 160, near the town of Mountain Springs. The project area is 9.4 acres, and the work requires the pruning to specification of trees, the cutting of trees not scheduled for pruning, and the cutting to specification of shrubs scheduled for removal. Tree prunings, cut shrubs, and small diameter trees will be piled, or stacked in preparation for burning by Forest Service crews after final acceptance of unit. The material to be pruned, cut and piled is shrubs and small trees. Most trees are less than 14” diameter measured at 4.5 feet above the ground (DBH). The contract period will be contiguous, and will occur at sometime between January 9th and February 15th, depending on weather and ground conditions. This pre-solicitation notice is for a unit-based performance service contract on approximately 9.4 acres, plus mobilization. The contract requires the Contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, transportation, supplies, supervision, and incidentals necessary to achieve the objectives. All work shall be performed during daylight hours, and shall not exceed 10 hours in one day. The solicitation will be posted at this site for public download on or about 10/25/2008. All proposals must be mailed via USPS or any expedited mail forwarding service, (i.e. FedEx, Airborne, UPS), to the Contracting Officer.
