- Synopsis: The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) intends to enter into a sole source contract with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) for transit subsidy benefits for a period of one year - October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009. The cost of this requirement is Not-To-Exceed $900,000. OVERVIEW OF THE REQUIREMENT: The FERC requires WMATA to provide SmarTrip cards that will be provided to all employees that solely utilize the Metro bus or rail as their primary transportation to work. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. A determination not to compete this procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice is for informational purposes only.
