Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to place a firm fixed price, sole source, one-year purchase order with Panavision Federal Systems (PFS) for engineering and technical services for the repair of the Digital Periscope System’s Optical Sensor Package (OSP). This effort will support installation and at-sea testing of the Digital Periscope. At this time, PFS is the only source qualified to furnish the required services IAW the Statement of Work, as PFS is the original manufacturer of the OSP. They built the OSP and are the only source known with the expertise and knowledge on digital periscope systems able to troubleshoot and repair it. This acquisition will be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. NAICS Code 333314, size standard 500 employees. The period of performance is 12 months from date of contract award. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a capabilities statement which will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Further details including a Statement of Work will be released upon issue of RFQ # N66604-09-Q-0129, which is anticipated to be on or about 10/17/2008.
