Description
This Sources Sought/Market Survey is being issued to identify potential small, bondable, and experienced businesses such as: (1) Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB): (2) Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB); (3) 8(a) contractors, (4) HUBZone Small Businesses, (5) Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), (6) and/or Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB) that are capable of meeting the construction need for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM), Washington, DC. The construction need is relative to Project # 640-413 entitled, 80 Bed Psychiatric Facility" at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, 3801 Miranda Drive, Palo Alto, CA 94304. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, transportation, supervision, supplies and tools necessary for the construction a new 76,000 square feet 80 Bed Psychiatric Facility, which will consist several nurses stations, staff offices, facility support area, dining areas, site utilities, landscaping, an administrative and research wing, loading dock, and food prep area. The estimated cost range for this project is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 236220 and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. The award of a firm fixed-price construction contract is anticipated. Interested bondable small businesses having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this sources sought/market survey. Responses must include the following information: (1) Company name, address, point of contact with phone number and e-mail address; (2) Business size determination and qualifying small business status; (3) Bonding capacity; (4) Construction experience of similar projects in size and scope; and (5) Sources Sought announcement number and specific project location. E-mail your responses to the Contracting Officer Frank A. Clemons, at frank.clemons@va.gov no later than 1:00 pm EDT on October 27, 2008. Please note that this is not a request for proposal (RFP) and the government is only seeking information for market research/survey purposes. The government may or may not issue solicitation documents. Look for any further information in fbo.gov. Telephone inquiries will not be returned. Technical questions at this time are discouraged as the government is still working on the specifications.
