Description
The US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) G-3, Operational Integration Directorate, on behalf of the US Army Product Manager for Demilitarization (PM Demil), is seeking information on disposition and reuse alternatives for LX-14 recovered from TOW missile warheads as well as various PBXN explosives and HMX recovered from other services missiles. The current missile demilitarization program seeks to increase environmentally acceptable alternatives to conventional Open Burn/Open Detonation (OB/OD) through closed disposal and component/compound reuse techniques. The Operational Integration Directorate wishes to use processes, equipment, and facilities that do not require research & development and/or facilitization. This notice constitutes a request for information (RFI) from sources with expertise and knowledge of disposal and alternative uses for LX-14, PBXN, and HMX. It is intended that this RFI be open 14 calendar days from the date of publication. Information may be submitted by any non-governmental entity including commercial firms, institutions of higher education with degree-granting programs in science and/or engineering (universities), or by consortia led by such concerns. AMCOM encourages participation by small business, small disadvantaged business, Hub-zone small business, woman-owned small business, veteran owned small business and historically black colleges and universities and minority institutions. All interested responsible businesses are encouraged to submit questions or comments at any time prior to expiration of this RFI. The RFI can be viewed on the Army Contracting Center website under: Disposition and Reuse for LX-14,PBXN, and HMX. https://ams8.redstone.army.mil/acweb/acwebdba.acweb_systems_public2?p_system_id=1&p_link_id=624
