Description
FED BIZ OPPS PREP: Submission Date: 10/17/2008Response Date: 10/27/2008 Classification: C -ARCHITECT AND ENGINEERING SERVICES-CONSTRUCTION. Solicitation: Sources Sought Subject: A/E Design Services for Acute Care Wards 6C-5CN. Description The Department of Veterans Affairs is looking for firms that are certified under the following programs: SDVOSB, VOSB, with an approved NAICS Code 541330. To Provide Professional Engineering services to prepare the schematic drawings, schematic program submission, preliminary drawings, working drawings, specifications, including asbestos abatement documents, and cost estimates. The project is for the renovation of the 6th and 5th floors c Wing of Building 111 for acute care beds. The project requires a minimum of two independent phases for the renovation and relocation of all existing services that will need to be modified during phasing for the project. Work includes the complete demolition, removal and replacement of all asbestos insulated piping/ductwork/flooring/ceiling, duct insulation, floor tile, etc., architectural, mechanical, equipment, furnishings, and electrical work. In addition, work will include the relocation of plumbing risers to feed floors above and below as required with the new 5th and 6th floors C Wing layout. The design shall include a new HW, HWR, & CW supply feeder for each floor. Provide a loop for the each floor off of the C Wing riser in lieu of a riser for each fixture. All design and installation will be in accordance with current VAMC Acute care design guide, Handbook 7610 (see attached sampling of guides and standards), NEC, NFPA, state, local, and all VA and federal codes. In addition, incorporate new signage in accordance with the VA signage manuals, details, etc. found at www.va.gov/facmgt/standard/signage.htm. Provide energy savings equipment and design modifications for current energy usage to the most efficient and economical level possible.
