- DESCRIPTION: THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) BEING RELEASED PURSUANT TO FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATIONS (FAR) PART 10 MARKET RESEARCH. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), and nothing shall be construed herein or through the RFI process to commit or obligate the Government to further action as a result of the RFI. In addition, contractors responding to this RFI shall bear all risk and expense of any resources used to provide the requested information. The information collected through this process is considered to be market research as described by FAR 2.101 and in accordance with FAR 10.002. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any further RFP, if any is issued. This RFI is issued to assess the level of interest and capabilities of all interested parties. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency was established in 1863 as a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) charters, regulates, and supervises all national banks. As a bureau, OCC charters, regulates, and supervises national banks to ensure a safe, sound, and competitive banking system that supports both the citizens and the economy of the United States. The Critical Infrastructure Protection and Security (CIPS) office of the OCC is responsible for the protection of all OCC people, facilities, property, and all other OCC assets. CIPS is conducting research to identify the market capabilities to provide access control proximity cards and card readers, which are currently provided via Siemens Building Technologies. The OCC uses HID clamshell proximity cards and HID Multi-technology card readers, which operate using the Siemens Building Technologies proprietary 31 bit format. INFORMATION REQUESTED The OCC is requesting information from public organizations and corporations that provide the items identified above. Also any viable alternatives that could meet the requirements above. Respondents to this RFI shall provide the following information: a.Contractor background summary including: contractor name, DUNS, point of contact information, email, phone and business size. b.Detailed description of the items/solution to validate that the cards and readers are compatible (alternate) or indicate if your organization has access to the current proximity cards and card readers. c.Provide three examples from past performance projects similar to this program (examples can include Government and commercial projects). RFI RESPONSE GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES Responses to the information requested is limited to fifteen (15) pages in 12 pt, Times New Roman font, and not exceed 1MB in size. Questions regarding this RFI shall be submitted via email to Brian Carper at Brian.Carper@occ.treas.gov no later than October 24, 2008. No telephone calls will be accepted. All responses shall be submitted to Brian Carper, via email at Brian.Carper@occ.treas.gov no later than 12:00 on October 29, 2008.
